The first week of December was marked with the beginning of the seventh International Sand Art Festival at Konark’s Chandrabhaga Beach. The golden hued sand and the gushing coastline became more alive and soulful with the presence of some of the best and unique sand art structures. Artists from all over the world participated in this festival and displayed remarkable and nonpareil talent and skill through the various sand models adorning the beach. Such kinds of festivals have introduced sand art to the world in an extremely pleasant manner and make a wonderful medium for exchange of cultural and artistic viewpoints between the nations and artists. On one hand the admirers of sand art are increasing day by day, the artists are making sure that they make most out of these platforms and convey messages via their work.

The main ingredients used to create this unique art form are water and sand. The sculptor is often assisted with wooden frames with tools like shovels, palette knives, and straws being used to build a sand structure.
